Q. Can you provide me with a TPMS wiring harness?
A. Yes we build wiring harnesses throughout motorsport (not just for TPMS!) please let us know during the TPMS ordering process and we can discuss the options available to you.
Q. Who do you currently provide TPMS / IRTPTMS for?
A. We currently provide components into F1™, IndyCar, NASCAR, Moto GP, WEC, ELMS, FIA GTE & GT3, Formula E, WRC, WTCC, Rally Raid, and for road cars produced by Bugatti, McLaren, Lamborghini, Aston Martin, Ferrari, Maserati, Pagani and Koenigsegg.
Q. How long have bf1systems supplied TPMS?
A. bf1systems have been supplying motorsport generally with components since 1994, and specifically with TPMS since 2001. We have a comprehensive understanding of what it takes to design and produce motorsport equipment.
Q. How do I mount the TPMS sensor to my wheel rim?
A. The TPMS sensor is mounted to the wheel rim via a motorsport TPMS valve provided by bf1systems.
Q. Do long do your wheel sensors last?
A. A TPMS wheel sensor will last anywhere between 2 and 6 seasons of use, depending on exactly how much it is used, and whether tyres are deflated between races (to put the sensor into a deep sleep).
Q. What is IRTPTMS?
A. IRTPTMS (InfraRed Tyre Pressure and Temperature Monitoring System) is an upgraded TPMS that provides data on the core tyre temperature. It does this by measuring the inner surface temperature of the tyre using an InfraRed element.
Q. How can TPMS help my team?
A. Knowing what your tyres are doing, both when they are on the running car, but also when they are off the car and waiting to be fitted is critical, and can mean the difference between winning the race, or putting the car into a barrier. TPMS has both benefits for performance, allowing the team to optimise the car’s setup and managing tyres during events, but it also serves a safety function, notifying the driver and team of a pressure loss before the tyre fails catastophically. This can mean the difference between passing the pit entry with a tyre that is slowly deflating and which will fail during the following lap, causing damage to the car, or pitting for a replacement wheel and continuing in the race.
Q. Do you support my race series?
A. bf1systems offers support to every customer who purchases equipment from us. This support can take the form of phone calls, emails or in person support at races around the world. Due to the number of series in which our TPMS is used, we cannot make every event, but are always contactable via phone or email to help resolve issues. If you require specific support at a test, get in contact and we will see what we can arrange. Alternatively, if you are testing at the Snetterton track in England, this is only 30 minutes from our factory so we are always happy to drop by and assist you there.
Q. What does bf1systems need to know in order to quote TPMS?
A. Please get in touch and let us know what type of car you wish to equip with TPMS. Ideally we would like to know how many rims you would like to fit TPMS to and if you will require a wiring loom.
