Head of Supply Chain

Working closely with our Commercial Director, the Head of Supply Chain will have overall responsibility for the supply chain strategy for the bf1systems Group.

Your key tasks will be to: 

• Manage and lead the Group supply chain including demand/forecasting, stock planning, and procurement.

• Develop and implement the Group purchasing strategy aligning this with the overall strategy of the business.

• Ensure all supply chain processes are in line with industry best practice to drive production and operational performance.

• Engage with key suppliers to negotiate and agree acceptable commercial terms that are in the Company’s best interest.

• Manage supplier contractual performance.

• Drive down costs and introduce cost reduction initiatives without adversely affecting quality or delivery.

• Accountable for the Group inventory value and initiatives to drive down inventory days.

• Work with our IT and ERP departments to ensure stock management systems are in place across the Group.

• Lead and motivate a team to achieve production and delivery deadlines in line with production and capacity plans.

To be successful you will need to be: 

• MCIPS Qualified or equivalent senior purchasing experience

• Strongly commercially and strategically aware with experience of delivering supply chain strategy

• Experienced in a purchasing management role, with a proven track record of success

• Experienced with supplier selection and the review and preparation of commercial supply contracts

• An experienced and first class negotiator

• Analytical with a demonstrable track record of partnering with suppliers to engineer out cost of the product or supplier process

• Highly knowledgeable of procurement within the low-volume electronics sector

• An excellent leader
