We are currently recruiting for a experienced and proactive Financial Controller to join our business.

You will assist our Finance Director in all aspects of day-to-day financial management of the company and to provide timely and accurate financial information to the Board of Directors and the senior management team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Preparation of monthly financial statements to include supporting working papers, variance analysis and commentaries;

  • On-going reporting and analysis of weekly cash position and providing a 13 week forecast;

  • Management and development of Accounts Assistant and Purchase Ledger Administrator in liaison with the Finance Director;

  • Banking and funding – responsibility for day-to-day relationship with bank;

  • Statutory Reporting – calculation and preparation of Monthly/Quarterly VAT Returns;

  • Responsibility for Payroll function and pension administration liaising with relevant external bodies;

  • Credit Control – maintenance of the sales ledger to include credit control, escalating any concerns to the Finance Director as soon as identified;

  • Overall responsibility for maintenance of all Ledgers and Cashbooks to ensure they are kept clean, tidy and reconciled, including dealing with any queries;

  • Provide relevant support to all areas of the business regarding requests for financial information (e.g., Purchasing, Sales);

  • Carry out continuous reviews and implement improvements to existing systems and processes within the department, and the company to ensure efficient and cost effective operations;

  • Ensure compliance with all financial regulations.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

You will have previous recent experience in a Financial Controller/Management Accountant role preferably in a manufacturing or engineering environment. You will be CIMA/ACCA qualified and have excellent IT skills including intermediate Excel (V-Lookups) and excellent experience of financial software packages. Previous experience of using Sage 200 is desirable but not essential.

Good communication with internal departments and external suppliers is essential to maintaining effective working practices within the department.
