Buyer

You will be responsible for the purchase of all goods and services required to support the current production of products and services and key projects across the Company.

Responsibilities

• In conjunction with the Head of Supply Chain, engage with key suppliers to negotiate and agree acceptable commercial terms that are in the Company’s best interest.

• Purchase goods, materials, components and services within cost, quality, and delivery targets.

• Drive down costs and work on cost reduction initiatives without affecting quality or delivery.

• Research new components and suppliers.

• Build and maintain excellent supplier relationships with key supply partners.

• Evaluate supplier performance and contribute to performance reviews to ensure contract compliance.

• Support the Head of Supply Chain with forecasting future purchasing requirements.

• Monitor the quality and timeliness of materials and goods supplied and work with key suppliers to address price, quality, delivery, or invoice issues that may arise.

• Liaise with MRP/ERP Manager and MRP Controller to maintain data for the MRP system.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

• Preferably CIPS Qualified or working towards an equivalent purchasing qualification

• Previous experience within an automotive, manufacturing or low-volume electronics sector

• Excellent supplier relationships

•  Computer literate, with advanced Excel skills and experience of MRP systems
