Integrated Electronics Design
bf1systems are to undertake any level and complexity of integrated electronics design; from simple centre console designs all the way through to steering wheels.
Utilising both CATIA V5 and NX for design, with HyperWorks for FEA, and Altium for electronics schematic design, bf1systems is able to do anything from taking a customer’s concept and turning it into reality, or taking an existing design and confirming its suitability for production, then designing tooling, and producing all documentation required for production.
The bf1systems design department utilise both CATIA V5 and NX for composites design, along with Hyperworks for FEA and Altium for electronics design. We can work with custom supplied CAD models, or can create CAD models from scratch, depending on the application.
As part of the design process, our designers will advise you on material and component selection, suitability of the part’s shape for manufacture, the finish required for the part. and the overall functionality of the part.
Every part of the design phase is managed according to our internal Quality Management System, which is adapted to ensure suitability of the part for the final application, be this anything from running on a Formula 1 race car, through to a production road car.
Our composite and electronics design teams work seamlessly to ensure the finished product not only provides the required finish, but also is suitable for use in its environment, and provides high reliability.
With over five years experience of designing integrated electronics products, we are able to advise you on all areas of the product, such as recommended finishes for different applications, strength values for different steering wheel applications, types of buttons and rotary switches to be used and shapes of wheels for different car tyres.
In addition to designing the parts, we also undertake testing of all designs to ensure they meet the required specifications. These tests range from water and dust ingress tests, through to electrical and EMC certification, temperature and vibration testing and FIA crash tests where required.
